Look of the Day for 5/1: Phils to grab early lead

After a tough start to the week in our Look of the Day series, we're looking to bounce back with a winner on Wednesday. Let's head to the diamond and target our favorite bet for the MLB slate.

Look of the Day: Philadelphia Phillies first five innings -0.5 (-125 DraftKings)

Phillies at Angels, 4:07 p.m. ET

The Philadelphia Phillies are taking on the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday afternoon, and we're looking to back the Phils in the first five innings.

Zack Wheeler has been lights out for Philadelphia this season with his 1.93 ERA and 0.884 WHIP through six starts. He's been even better of late, as the right-hander has surrendered only two hits and no earned runs over his last 13.1 innings of work. Now he gets to face an Angels lineup without Mike Trout, who leads MLB with 10 home runs and ranks second with 17 runs scored.

Current Angels hitters are batting just .130 against Wheeler with a .225 xwOBA and a .285 expected slugging percentage.

On the other side, Angels starter Patrick Sandoval has given up 10 earned runs over his last two starts, and the Phillies have the best batting average and OPS in baseball over the last two weeks. This is a huge mismatch without Trout in the lineup, so we'll take the Phillies to get out to an early lead behind Wheeler's right arm.
